I have scoured the forums for months but cant see any help for this one. I just need some help on changing my gear box oil. If anyone can show me some diagrams or pics on how to do it as I can do my sparks and engine oil no probs, just cant see the drain plug for the gear box oil.

After much of a chew on trying to find a grinding rattle on my car, I think I've traced it to the alternator. At first I thought it was the power steering pump bearing but it seems fine after removing the belts. The problem is that the alternator bearing also seems fine but I'm more than sure the grinding / rattling is coming from there. Bought an automatic 98 2.0. Test drive went ok - 50 miles later had a bit of a gear slipping problem at traffic lights - next problem on a motorway roundabout !!!. It seems to be slipping into neutral at low speeds. Stopped at garage - guy topped it up with auto fuel styff - drove like a drean for another 50 miles then when I put my foot down to overtake got no power what so ever out of it. pulled over and re-started all was well. Went out last nite, parked in the car park, went back to my car about 5 hours later, started the car , and it took a few trys and pumping the gas to ignite it? which is unusual cos it normally starts fine!

Anyway drove back to my home town (about 5 miles away)parked up to get some food, and tried to start the car again and it wouldnt ignite, it would do that ticking noise but never start the engine.

Well, was due to pick my car up today, the kits all done, its looking gr8 and all that but, my engine management light came on and made the car cut out on numerous occasions, ive just fitted a CAI to the car, could anyone shed any light as to what could cause the car to cut out?
